2020 Junior Homecraft Classes

RULES FOR THE JUNIOR DIVISION: (Maximum Age 19 years)

1. An entry form must be completed per child. The entry form can be downloaded here:

2. All entries must be tagged with Name, Section, Class, and Age (Please also include AGE on the back of each tag).

3. There is no fee to enter.  Exhibitor numbers will be assigned to participants who do not have one.

4. All entries must be the work of the exhibitor exclusively unless otherwise stated. One entry per person, per class. Entries must be new work made since last Fair.

5. Read carefully what is required. Not following instructions may result in disqualification or lower placement.

6. Articles will be judged as the product of youth – not as perfect works of art. Originality and effort are as important as workmanship. Decision of judge is final.

7. Entry form and Tags may be obtained from The Bridge Social (64 Brock Street West, Uxbridge). Tuesday – Friday 9AM – 4PM, Saturday 11am – 4pm.

8. Entries must be handed in at The Bridge Social no later than 5:00PM, Thursday, September 10th, 2020. Entry form and tags may, also be completed at this time.

9. Entries may be dropped off at anytime during business hours to The Bridge Social leading up to September 10th, 2020. You do not have to wait until September 10th.

10. Age level as of September 10th, 2020 for determining division. Children may make entries in the next highest age class if they wish.

11. All entries will be displayed, including the child’s name.  By entering the classes, you are agreeing to your child’s name and work being displayed.

12. Exhibitors must pick up their exhibits between Tuesday September 15th – Saturday September 19th at The Bridge Social during business hours.

13. Junior prize winnings must be picked up at The Bridge Social between Tuesday September 15th – Saturday September 19th during business hours (Tuesday – Friday 9AM – 4PM, Saturday 11AM – 4PM)

14. Any unclaimed entries will be disposed of and any unclaimed prize money will be donated to the Fair.

Preschool Class (4 years of age and under)

Age must be put on back of exhibitor tag otherwise entry will be eliminated.

Prize:  Ribbons for all entrants

  1. Paint or colour a picture of an animal.

2. Decorate a rock using any craft material.

3. Decorate or create an item using a box or boxes.  (ex:  shoe box)

4. Create a picture or pattern using stickers and/or stamps.

5. Cut and paste:  Create a picture or craft using paper, scissors and glue. (Other crafting materials may be used as well.  Parent to help with cutting if necessary.)

Primary Class (5 – 8 years of age)

Age must be put on back of exhibitor tag otherwise entry will be eliminated.

Prizes–  1st: $4,  2nd: $3,  3rd: $2   4th: $1

6. Make a craft using one or more egg cartons.

7. Make a piece of jewellery (any medium).

8. Dress a doll or stuffed animal as a farmer.

9. Make a craft using one or more recycled containers.  (Ex:  milk carton, mason jar, water bottle)

10. Create a collage about the Uxbridge Fall Fair using any materials

Intermediate Class (9 – 12 years of age)

Age must be put on back of exhibitor tag otherwise entry will be eliminated.

Prizes–  1st: $4,  2nd: $3,  3rd: $2   4th: $1

11. Create a diorama of a farm inside a tissue or shoe box using any material.  (Ex:  lego, paper, natural materials, fabric)

12. Make a unicorn using any craft material.

13. Create a picture or piece of art that includes your initials.

14. Make a craft using popsicle sticks. Other craft material may be used.

15. Create an item using embroidery thread, string or yarn.  Other craft materials may be used.

Teen Class (13 – 19 years of age)

Age must be put on back of exhibitor tag otherwise entry will be eliminated.

Prizes–  1st: $4,  2nd: $3,  3rd: $2   4th: $1 

16. Submit a picture, sketch or painting that celebrates the Fair.

17. Create a DIY home décor item (original or from instructions online or from a book).

18. Create a mobile that could be hung.

19. Create an article of clothing using tie-dye technique.

20. Create a fall decoration using any craft material.
