“A Celebration of Agriculture”
The second annual “A Celebration of Agriculture” tent will be bigger and better this year with more interactive displays and animals to interact with. This year we will be using a larger tent with more room for activities. Inside the tent, we will have 4 Durham Farm Connections kiosks, a Dairy Education display, a Grain Farmers display, Foodland Ontario milking demonstrations, Ontario Apple and Greenhouse Growers resources, Farm and Food Care Ontario resources, Farm and Home Safety resources, Beef Farmers game and display, and Maple, the Milking Cow. These units are great visuals for visitors to see and understand where farm products come from and how they impact our lives.
There will be tables and chairs for children and youth to work on activities centred on agricultural challenges. Volunteers will be there to answer questions and talk about their role in agriculture. The interactive play area was very popular last year with the younger guests. Recipes and booklets will be available to take home.
The tent will accommodate more live animal displays and a bigger activity centre for youth. Bring the children and learn about farming and celebrate agriculture!
Be sure to visit with the whole family!
