2017 FAIR THEME – Canada’s 150th Birthday- “Made in Canada,eh!”

Prize Money:   $2.00 $1.75 $1.50 $1.00

RULES:
1. No membership fee is required. Entries must be handed in at the Horticulture Building no later than 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
2. All entries must be tagged with a number obtained from the Secretary when making entries and must include full name. (The age is to be put on the back of the tag otherwise it will be eliminated.)
3. Exhibitor Tags may be obtained from the Township Office or Public Library in Uxbridge prior to September 1 or at the Fair Office, Thursday, September 7 2017.
4. Age level – as of September 1, 2017 for determining division.
5. The building will close at 4:30 pm on Sunday to sort entries and will re-open at 5 pm for pick-up. Exhibitors must pick up exhibits between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
6. Exhibits will be judged in recognition of a child’s capability and age.  Decision of the judge is final.
7. Exhibits should not be in valuable containers.

9.  Junior & Youth prize winnings must be picked up at the Fair Office Saturday, September 9,2017 after 10 am with your duplicate entry list.

JUNIOR CATEGORY
(AGE 9 AND UNDER)

THE AGE IS TO BE PUT ON THE BACK OF THE EXHIBITOR TAG OTHERWISE THE ENTRY WILL BE ELIMINATED.
RULES
The flowers and vegetables must be obtained from the family garden unless otherwise stated.

CLASS
1.  Cosmos “Uxbridge’s Official Flower”- 3 stems – Sponsored by the UXBRIDGE COSMO VOLLEYBALL  TEAM

2. Collection of garden flowers, in a vase, must be accompanied by a list of the flowers displayed – 1st place entry will receive an additional $10 gift certificate from JOHN’S GARDEN.                                                                                                                                            3.Any perennial flower 1 bloom if large, 3 blooms if small
4. Marigolds – 3 blooms, any size
5. Rose – 1 stem, any variety
6. Petunias – 3 blooms
7. Red and white flower display for the fair theme – “Made in Canada, eh!”
8. Zinnias, Echinacea, Rudbeckia – 3 blooms
9. Three different varieties of Hosta leaves in a mason jar
10. Carrots – 3 on a plate
11. Tomatoes – Red – 3 on a small plate.
12. Red or Green Peppers – 2 on a small plate
13. Collection of at least 4 types of vegetables in a “MADE IN CANADA,EH!” theme  basket
14. Child’s choice –most oddly shaped vegetable
15. Zucchini
16. Make funny creatures from an Ornamental gourd or mini pumpkin.
17. Cucumber – on a plate
18. A collection of 3 herbs
19. Decorate a hat for the fair theme – “MADE IN CANADA,EH!”
20. Your choice of a heritage or heirloom vegetable.                                                                  21. Decorate a can of food with the “MADE IN CANADA,EH!” theme. All cans will be donated to the Uxbridge Food Bank.
Entries to be  brought to the Fair Office after 12 pm and before 8 pm Thursday, September  7, 2017.
  Be sure to leave the contents on the label visible or make your decorations removable in a fashion that will not damage the label, especially the connection to agriculture.
Please ensure the expiry date is valid and there are no dents to the can that will be donated.

THE MOST POINTS IN THE JUNIOR CATEGORIES 1 THROUGH 20.

 YOUTH CATEGORY
(AGE 10 AND OVER)

29 . Marigolds – African, over 3″- 3 blooms
30. Three different varieties of Hosta leaves in a mason jar
31. Carrots – 3 on a plate
32.  Tomatoes – Red – 3 on a small plate
33.  Red or Green Peppers – 2 on a small plate
34.  Collection of vegetables in a Canada theme basket (at least 5 types)
35. A collection of 3 different herbs –up to 3 stems of each in a vase, named if possible
36. Zucchini
37. Decorate an Ornamental gourds or mini pumpkin using fair theme “MADE IN CANADA,EH!”
38. Corn or Indian corn – 3 on a plate.
39. Unique vegetable of choice, named if possible,shape, size, heritage or variety.
40. Make a craft related to the Fair theme, “MADE IN CANADA, EH!” – with natural materials, some accessories allowed.  sponsored by Quaker Dental  

41. Decorate a can of food with the theme”MADE IN CANADA, EH!” All cans will be donated to the Uxbridge Food Bank.

46. Design an arrangement showing the fair theme – “MADE IN CANADA, EH!”
