All junior culinary arts exhibits will be judged and displayed in the Culinary Arts section. Please refer to the Rules and Regulations and read the Rules for Junior Division. Junior prize winnings must be picked up at the Fair office during Fair weekend. They will be available after 10:00 a.m. Saturday, and all day Sunday. Entrants must provide their duplicate entry list.

REMEMBER - Juniors may also enter the Adult Culinary Arts classes.

OAAS Special - Plain Chocolate Chip Cookies

(no nuts) 4 on a plate no larger than 3" (6.75 cm) nor smaller than 2" (5 cm)

Contest is open to youth ages 10 to 15 years ( as of Dec. 31 of current year). First prize will be eligible to compete at the District 4 Annual Meeting. Include a copy of your recipe.

RULES

1. No membership required.

2. Maximum photo size is 4" x 6", unless otherwise specified.

3. All photographs must be properly mounted on plain black or white only Bristol board or construction paper. The background must be no larger than 8" x 10" unless otherwise specified. No frames or mats allowed.

4. Only one (1) entry per class, unless otherwise specified.

5. Photos must not have been judged previously at the Uxbridge Fall Fair.

6. Photos must be the work of the exhibitor.

7. Attach entry tags to the right-hand side of the photo.

8. Please read the General Rules for the Homecraft Division.

9. ALL PHOTOS MAY BE COLOUR or BLACK AND WHITE.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD Prize: ROSETTE

On Friday and Saturday until 6:00 pm, visitors to the Fair may cast one vote each for their favourite photograph in EITHER the adult or children's section. Results will be posted Sunday.

2022 FAIR THEME -"Your Country Fair"

NOTE: Entries will be received at the Horticultural Building on Thursday, September 8th from 12 pm to 7 pm.
The building will close on Sunday, September 11th at 4:30 pm & entries may be picked up at 5 pm.

RULES:
1. EXHIBITOR INFORMATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL. Before you arrive, please complete all tags and forms (including age). Print two copies off the website www.uxbridgefair.ca , keep one for yourself, or, entry forms/tags can be picked up in Uxbridge at the Town Hall or Library.
2. Age level - as of September 1, 2022 for determining division.
3. Exhibits will be judged in recognition of a child's capability and age.
4. The flowers and vegetables must be obtained from the family garden unless otherwise stated.
5. See "Helpful Hints" in the adult vegetable section.
6. Junior/Youth prize winnings must be picked up at the Fair Office on Saturday, September 10th after 10:00 am with your duplicate entry form.

RULES FOR THE JUNIOR DIVISION: (Maximum Age 19 years)

  1. An entry form must be completed for each child. All entries must be tagged with Name, Section, Class and Age. Please also include AGE on the back of each tag. Exhibitor numbers will be assigned to participants who do not have one.
  2. There is no fee to enter.
  3. Please read General Rules for Homecraft Division.
  4. All entries must be the work of the exhibitor exclusively. One entry per person, per class. Entries must be new work made since last Fair.
  5. Read carefully what is required. Not following instructions may result in disqualification or lower placement.
  6. Articles will be judged as the product of youth- not as perfect works of art. Originality and effort are as iportant as workmanship. Decision of judge is final.
  7. Entry form and tags may be obtained from The Bridge Social (64 Brock Street West, Uxbridge) during business hours. Check www.thebridgesocial.ca for details. Entry forms and tags may also be obtained at the Uxbridge Public Library.
  8. Entries must be handed in at the Fair Grounds at Elgin Park no later than 6:30p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022. Entry forms and tags should be completed in advance.
  9. Age level - as of September 7, 2022 for determining division. Children may make entries in the next highest age class if they wish and teens may enter the adult classes.
  10. Exhibitors must pick up their exhibits on the Fair Grounds at Elgin Park on Sunday, September 11 2022 between 5 - 6 p.m.
  11. Junior prize winnings must be picked up during Fair hours Saturday, September 10, 2022 - Sunday September 11, 2022 at the Home Craft Building.
  12. Any unclaimed entries will be disposed of and any unclaimed prize money will be donated to the Fair.


PRESCHOOL CLASSES - RIBBONS FOR ALL ENTRANTS:

1.

Paint or colour a picture of a flower or garden.

2.

Make a craft using play dough or clay.

Other craft materials may also be used. Craft can be didsplayed on a paper plate or cardboard.

3.

Make a picture or collage using stickers and/or stamps.

PRIMARY CLASSES (5 - 8 YEARS):

4.

Make a craft using itmes from nature. (ex: pinecones, twigs, leaves, etc.)

Draw or paint a picture of a farm.

Make an animal using one or more egg cartons.

Make a craft using your hand or foot print.

Other craft materials may also be used.

8.

Make a craft using pipe cleaners.

INTERMEDIATE CLASSES (9 - 12 YEARS):

Using a tissue or shoe box, create a diorama of the Fair.

10.

Tie-dye an article of clothing or an accessory.

11.

Sketch, draw or paint a picture of any type of garden.

Other craft materials can be used/added for embellishments.

Make a craft using popsicle sticks.

13.

Make a collage on the theme "Farm Life".

Use stickers, photographs, printed pictures, magazine and/or newspaper articles.

TEEN CLASSES (13 - 19 YEARS):

Submit a picture, sketch or painting of your choice.

Create a fall decor item using any type of materials.

Maximum size 18" in any direction.

Wrap a "present" (use a place holder such as an exmpty box as the present).

Submit a coloured colouring page from a teen or adult colouring book.
