If you would like to be acknowledged as the oldest in the Golden Years Section or the youngest in the Handwork Section, then put your age on the fold-up portion of the exhibitor's tag.

NOTE: Seniors must obtain an exhibitor number from the Secretary. Seniors must be 60 years of age or over. Please see General Rules for more information. (page 6)

NOTE: All entries must include a sample of materials used.

Prizes: 1st: $5, 2nd: $4, 3rd: $3, 4th: $2

Special prizes:

BETHESDA-REACH WOMEN'S INSTITUTE SPECIAL Prize: $25

Awarded to the overall points winner in the Golden Years Section.

Classes:

1.

Handmade scarf, any medium (e.g. Woven, silk, knitted)

2.

Knitted child's sweater

3.

One pair of knitted socks or slippers

4.

An article of sewing

5.

Make a garden ornament

6.

Any article constructed of wood (no kits)

7.

Any toy made for a grand child

8.

Any quilted article reflecting the "We've Got a Good Thing Growing" fair theme. Smaller than .5 meter in any direction

9.

Any article of artwork, any medium. If a picture, framed and ready for hanging

10.

Any handcrafted card (not computer generated). No envelope

11.

Copy out in writing the poem: "My Garden". Poem included below at the end of this section.

This class is dedicated to the memory of Joye Cornell.

12.

A photo depicting the theme "We've Got a Good Thing Growing". Can be colour or black & white - mounted on black

Poem: My Garden

This is my garden.

I’ll plant it with care.

Here are the seeds

I’ll plant it there.

The sun will shine.

The rain will fall.

The seeds will spread

And grow up tall.

How to Enter a Competition

Step 1

Find your exhibitor class and section in the online Fair Book.

Step 2

Click the link to our online entry form managed by AssistExpo.  Login if you have used this system previously.  If you are entering for the first time, you’ll need to register by completing your name and contact information.  In the AssistExpo form, complete your contest registration and follow the directions on screen. AssistExpo will generate an Exhibitor number for you.  Save this number with your username and password.

Step 3

Print or save your confirmation message.  Get your printed tags.  Remember the date and time when exhibits are to be delivered to the fair.
