Uxbridge Fair AGM 2024

A Night of Celebration and New Beginnings

The Uxbridge Fair AGM, held on the evening of January 25, 2024, at the Seniors Centre on Marietta St., was a significant and heartwarming event that marked both reflection on past achievements and anticipation for the future. The meeting began promptly at 7:30 pm, but the doors were opened earlier at 6:45 pm, welcoming members to settle their membership dues and mingle before the official proceedings.

A Tribute to Outgoing Directors

The night was filled with gratitude and recognition for the outgoing Directors, whose dedication and hard work have been instrumental in the success and growth of the Uxbridge Fair. Their commitment to excellence has set a high standard and inspired the Fair community to aim for greater heights. The contributions of these exceptional individuals were highlighted, and they were praised for their unwavering service.

Welcoming New Leadership

In a significant moment of transition, the AGM witnessed the introduction of two new Directors to the Uxbridge Fair Board: Hailey Ashton, and Rachel Hendy.  And a welcome return of Kate Johnson. Their addition promises fresh perspectives and renewed energy in steering the Fair towards new achievements. Additionally, Mark Hendy was appointed as the First Vice-President for 2024, a role critical for the leadership and strategic direction of the Fair.

Celebrating Achievements with Awards

The evening was also an opportunity to celebrate individual achievements within the Fair community. Among the highlights was the presentation of awards, recognizing the hard work, creativity, and dedication of those who have made outstanding contributions. Unfortunately, Kate Assink, one of the evening’s honorees, could not attend. Despite her absence, she was awarded the prestigious OAAS Accomplishment Award, a testament to her significant contributions and achievements. John Park awarded  Emily Smith  ( absent) the Bernice D Park Memorial Volunteer of The Year Award for exceptional  service at the  2023 Fair.

A Look Forward

The AGM was about looking back and setting the stage for the year ahead. Discussions and decisions made during the meeting reflected a collective ambition to build on the positive momentum of previous years. The Fair’s leadership and community are poised to implement innovative ideas and initiatives to ensure the event continues to grow and thrive.

A Night to Remember

The AGM was a memorable occasion, marking a pivotal moment for the Uxbridge Fair. It was a night that celebrated the past, acknowledged the present, and looked forward to a bright future. Photos from the evening capture the spirit of camaraderie, pride, and enthusiasm that define the Uxbridge Fair community.
