All sheep to be on the grounds by 10 a.m. and remain until 4 p.m. or end of show (whichever is later)

RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. All general rules and regulations of the Fair apply.sheep
  2. Maximum of two entries per class.  All entries must be owned and registered in the name of the exhibitor.  Registration papers may be checked.
  3. The following breeds may be shown in short fleece (staple less than 1”): Border Cheviot, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxford Down, Shropshire, South down and Suffolk.
  4. All sheep exhibited must be healthy and free of contagious disease.  The sheep committee, in consultation with a veterinarian, may disqualify and remove from grounds any animal not deemed healthy.
  5. Pre-register by August 15th and receive your exhibitor wristbands.  1-4 animals equals 3 one-day passes, 5 plus animals equals 4 day passes.  If you do not pre-register  Fair admission ($12) will be charged at the gate. There will  be a hold back of 10% of all winnings in adult classes.

                                    S02 – Dorset
                                    S03 – Any other breed: long wool
                                    S04 – Any other breed: short wool
                                    S05 – Suffolk
                                    S06 – Lincoln Longwool

(A first place is awarded at the discretion of the judge.)

 BREEDING CLASSES

 1.  Ewe  Two Tooth, Two central permanent incisors. Second pair of permanent incisors may be fully up.  Other two pairs of temporary incisors (milk teeth) must be firmly in place.  Born and bred in Canada.                                                                                   2.   Ewe Full Mouth Milk Teeth (all eight temporary incisors).  Born the property    of  the exhibitor.
3.   Ram Two Tooth.  Two central permanent incisors.  Second pair of permanent incisors may be fully up.  Other two pairs of temporary incisors (milk teeth) must be firmly in place.
 4.   Ram Full Mouth Milk Teeth (all eight temporary incisors).  Born the property of the exhibitor.
 5.   Get of Sire Born the property of the exhibitor.  A group of three animals, full mouth milk teeth, by the same size. Both sexes may be represented.  Animals MUST have been shown in one of the previous classes and MUST be judged as a group in the ring in this class.  Registration papers and tattoos will be checked.  (Copies of application for registration are acceptable.)

 6.   Breeder’s Flock Bred and owned by exhibitor. Group of four animals.  Both sexes to be represented.  Each animal in the group must have been exhibited in one of the preceding classes.  All animals in a group to be of one breed.

 7.   Junior Showmanship   $10 to each competitor
