RULES & REGULATIONS

1. All LIVESTOCK exhibitors AND every person arriving with them MUST pre-register on ASSISTEXPO by NOON, SUNDAY, AUGUST 31, 2025 . For help with this process, please visit www.uxbridgefair.ca and follow the links. Alternately, you can email lori.stjohn2012@gmail.com.

Each Exhibitor entering one or more adult classes in homecraft and/or horticulture (field crops, flouwers and vegetables, herbs & fruit) will be charged a single ehibitor fee of $5.00 this year!

Livestock entries will be subject to a $20 fee per vehicle which includes the exhibitor fee and support personnel.

2. All Livestock entries MUST include the Uxbridge Fair Premises ID # ON4232599.

3. Entry tags must be firmly attached to every animal or article being shown. All exhibitors of livestock must have a numerical entry tag for admission to the show ring. Incomplete entry tags may result in disqualification.

4. Every animal or article entered for competition must be the bonafide property of the exhibitor and all articles shown must have been grown, produced or manufactured by the exhibitor since the last exhibition.

5. Age of stock date from January 1, except cattle, to date from July 1.

6. No animal shall be allowed to compete in more than one class of a section, except in herd, or for sweepstake, or special, and no person will be allowed to make more than one entry in any section other than animals.

7. Cattle must be on the grounds by 11:00 a.m., unless otherwise stated in the corresponding section rules, or it will be the option of the judges whether they will be judged or not. All animals must be securely tied while on the grounds. Exhibitors must have liability insurance.

8.Judges have discretionary power to withhold a prize whenever an animal or article is considered not worthy or not in accordance with the rules of the Society.

9. Any person conversing or interfering with the judges while on duty will forfeit any right to a prize.

10. In case of protest, it must be made in writing and deposited with the Secretary on the day of the Fair. It must state plainly the cause of complaint and be accompanied with a deposit of Twenty ($20.00) Dollars which may be forfeited to the Society in case of the protest not being sustained.

11. Prize money distribution will be handled as follows: Prizes less than $50 will be available for pickup at the Fair Office on Saturday, September 6 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Sunday, September 7 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Monday, September 8 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Winners must bring ID to sign for their payouts. Any winnings not collected during these times will be donated back to the Fair. Prizes of $50 or more will be mailed to winners by October 31, 2025. In the event of insufficient funds to pay prizes in full, a percentage will be paid to all prize winners alike. Any prize cheque not cashed by November 30 will be forfeited to the Society. Please read the rules of the Section you are interested in carefully, as certain Sections may have specific prize distribution methods.

12. The statute provides that the Society shall have control of the grounds and for a distance of 300 yards surrounding the same. Privileges for refreshment booths and for sale of goods on or adjacent to the grounds and hall must be arranged with the Space Rental/Vendor Chairperson – Sarah van Wolde, 289-987-6505 or email vendorinquiries@uxbridgefair.ca

13. Though every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Directors to ensure the safety of articles, it is understood that the exhibits are placed at the owner's risk and the Society is not in any way liable for injury or theft to competitors and/or exhibits while on exhibition.

14. The Society recognizes the right of privacy of individuals with respect to their personal information. Information collected will be used solely for communication and the business of the Society.

15. Please be advised that members of agents of the Uxbridge-Scott Agricultural Society (“U.S.A.S.”) will be taking photographs and videos for advertising and commercial use during the Uxbridge Fall Fair and other related Society activities, such as livestreaming on our social media accounts. The U.S.A.S. reserves the exclusive right to photograph all participants, attendees, performers, exhibitors and volunteers (without exception). Your attendance at a U.S.A.S. event constitutes consent to be photographed for use in print or electronic publicity solely by the U.S.A.S.. To ensure the privacy of individuals and children, images will not be identified using full names or personal identifying information without the written approval of the photographed subject, parent, or legal guardian. If you object to your likeness being used, please come to the Fair Office PRIOR to the START of the Fair and provide your full name, address and telephone number and allow us to photograph you in order to have your likeness excluded. Forms may be obtained at the Uxbridge Public Library or Township Office before September 1^st.

16. Any inappropriate or abusive handling of animals may be subject to disqualification and/or ejection from the grounds.

17. No refunds will be issued due to inclement weather and/or resulting cancelled event.

Junior/Youth Division

4H Crops, Junior Artwork, Junior Culinary Arts, Junior and Youth Flowers & Vegetables, Junior Handworks, Junior Photography

RULES FOR THE JUNIOR DIVISION: (Maximum Age 19 years)

1. An entry form must be completed per child.
2. All entries must be tagged with Name, Section, Class, Age, and an exhibitor number obtained from the Secretary. Please also include AGE on the back of each tag, or the entry may be eliminated.
3. There is no fee to enter. Exhibitor numbers will be assigned to participants who do not have one.
4. Please read the General Rules for the Homecraft Division.
5. All entries must be the work of the exhibitor exclusively unless otherwise stated. One entry per person, per class. Entries must be new work made since last Fair.
6. Read carefully what is required. Not following instructions may result in disqualification or lower placement.
7. Articles will be judged as the product of youth – not as perfect works of art. Originality and effort are as important as workmanship. Decision of judge is final.
8. Tags may be obtained from the Township Office, Library, or The Bridge Social prior to entering or at the Fair Office Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 between 6pm and 8pm and Thursday, September 4th 2025 between 12:00 noon and 7:00pm.
9. Entries must be handed in at the fairgrounds on Wednesday, September 3rd, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Thursday, September 4th, from noon to 7:00 pm. Entry form and tags may also be completed at this time.
10. Entries must be handed in at the Homecraft Building (Fair Office) no later that 7:00 pm Thursday, September 4th, 2025.
11. Age level as of September 5th, 2025 for determining division. Children may make entries in the next highest age class if they wish.
12. All entries will be displayed, including the child’s name. By entering the classes, you are agreeing to your child’s name and work being displayed.
13. Exhibitors must pick up their exhibits between 5:00pm and 6:00pm on Sunday, September 7th, 2025.
14. DUPLICATE extry list and ID card must be shown at time of pick up.
15. Remember, you may also enter the adult handcraft section classes.
16. Junior prize winnings MUST be picked up at the Fair Office during the fair weekend, starting Saturday, September 6th, 2025 after 10am with your duplicate entry list.

HOMECRAFT DIVISION

RULES FOR HOMECRAFT DIVISION

1. All general rules and regulations apply.

2. Entries may be made personally at the office in the Fairgrounds Wednesday, September 3rd from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm and Thursday, September 4th from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. Judging will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. so that all entries to be judged MUST be in the hands of the Directors before 7:00 p.m.

Each Exhibitor entering one or more adult classes will be charged a single ehibitor fee of $5.00 this year!

3. All visitors to the Fair must pay admission at the entrance gate.

4. All exhibits must have tag completed and secured before entering building. All entries will be placed in the section and class noted by the competitor.

5. Please read carefully what is required. Not following instructions may result in disqualification or lower placement.

6. Entries must be in “new condition” and not previously judged at the Uxbridge Fair.

7. The building will close on Sunday, September 7th at 4:30 p.m. and re-open at 5:00 for pick-up of exhibits. PLEASE NOTE: All competitors must pick up their entries before 6:00 p.m. Duplicate list of entries must be presented at time of pick-up. Winnings will be mailed by October 31, 2025.

8. Any article not picked up by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7th, 2025 becomes the property of the Fair.

9. Any person winning the plaque for total points in any division is ineligible for that award the following year.

11. Our judges are trained and experienced in their field and are not members of this Fair Board. Judges are not required to award prizes to an inferior entry.

HOW TO ENTER ITEMS

1. Every item must have a completed entry tag. Incomplete entry tags may result in disqualification.

2. The section is named at the beginning of each division, e.g. Culinary Arts – Section C. The class is the number in front of each article.

3. When naming article, please use wording in prize list.

4. Only one entry per person per class is permitted.

5. All items must be listed on an entry form which is then presented to the Fair Office. A duplicate list is needed when picking up exhibits and is the responsibility of the exhibitor.

6. Tags and entry forms are available from the Uxbridge Public Library or Township Office prior to the Fair.
